My close friend and business partner, Zaheer Dodhia, has been encouraging me to create a blog for quite some time. His encouragement was so strong, that he gave me this domain and website it Oct 2008- thanks Z!
Since 2002, I’ve started 3 businesses, learned more than i could ever imagine, and many TONS of mistakes. My objective is to share what i’ve previously learned, am learning and hopefully learn from our readers in starting and running a small business, with hopes that it someday becomes a BIG business, or is acquired by a big business.
One of the underlying themes for my writings is to provide sound advice that builds real businesses with sustainable businesses models that add value to our society and are run ethically.
About Joe (aka, CJ): I started Internet Travel Network in 2002, which is not Travel Ad Network. TAN has since raised $15mm in capital and is one of the largest travel banner ad exchanges globally. The idea, i take credit for, the growth, raising capital and success is all Cree Lawson, who purchased the company shortly after i started it so i could join Logo Design Guru.
I joined Logo Design Guru because i loved the International component, and the ability to work with small businesses. And frankly, i was tired of selling internet advertising. We’ve grown LDG to become a multi-million dollar business with the help of Z’s funding, good fundamentals, a lot of luck and the grace of God. We are challenged daily, and have tons of ideas we can’t wait to implement.
While with LDG, we conceived and launched CentricSource- an offshore consulting company. We quickly built a solid network of clients, and found that CS deserved more attention than we could give. We sold the company in 2008 to Covenant Capital. I’m proud to say that CentricSource is thriving.
